Sierra Staman

Flute, Piccolo

Sierra is a passionate performer with a desire to share music and musical knowledge with all. Sierra has been playing flute for 15 years and can teach lessons on the concert flute, piccolo, and alto flute.


Sierra has participated in the WMU concerto competition as well as the Great Lakes Flute Festival competitions.


Sierra earned her bachelor’s degree in music performance from Western Michigan University; and is currently a candidate for the master of music program at the same institution. Before college, Sierra was a 3 year long member of the University Of Michigan Youth Ensembles and was a dedicated solo and ensemble participant.


Sierra has performed with the WMU Symphony Orchestra, as a soloist along side with the WMU Concert Band, and serves as the flutist in the Graduate Wind Quintet and in several other small chamber groups in the area. Sierra is an avid solo, chamber, and large ensemble flutist. In her free time Sierra can be found enjoying nature, sipping tea, or making art.
