Jake McQuaid

Flute, Piccolo

Jake McQuaid is a current flute student at Michigan State University pursuing a Master’s of Music in Flute Performance. He completed his Associate’s of Music and his Bachelor’s of Music in Flute Performance at Kent State University. Jake’s primary teachers have included Richard Sherman, Diane Rechner and Lisa McCleaster. He has also studied with Kyra Kester, Mary Kay Fink, and Heidi Ruby-Kushious. 


During his studies, Jake has also played with multiple orchestras around Ohio such as the Akron Symphony and The Cleveland Orchestra. All while being a full time student, Jake also holds a vibrant studio of flute, piccolo, and piano students. His students have gone on to win competitions, scholarships, competitive group placements, and have been awarded placements in music schools around the United States. He has also won concerto competitions and has attended prestigious summer music festivals such as the Kent Blossom Music Festival and more.
