Gia Evans

Flute

Gia Evans comes from a family of musicians and has been playing music for her entire life. She began her musical journey on piano at the age of three, and she then transitioned to flute, which she has been playing for over 10 years. She has participated in numerous competitions, both on piano and flute. She played in the Michigan Federation competition for piano for 5 years, and Solo & Ensemble throughout her high school years. She has also participated in WMU's Concerto Competition.


She is a recent graduate from Western Michigan University and has completed her degrees in Music Performance and Spanish. She has participated in numerous ensembles at WMU, including the University Wind Symphony, and the modern music ensemble Birds On A Wire. She has been in the Wind Symphony for the past four years, and she is currently the manager of the ensemble. She has been in Birds On A Wire for the past three years, and was featured as a soloist in the final performance of the academic year.


She hopes to eventually continue her education at La Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Spain to obtain a Master’s degree in Music.
