Gia Evans

Kalamazoo

Flute

Gia Evans has a deep love for music, and she loves to spread that love and knowledge to anyone who will join her for lessons! She began her musical journey on piano at the age of three, and she then transitioned to flute, which she has been playing for over 13 years. She has since added piccolo and alto flute to her musical mix.

In recent years, she participated in WMU's Concerto Competition, and was a finalist in the Southeast Michigan Flute Association competition in May of 2024.

She is a graduate from Western Michigan University and has completed her degrees in Music Performance and Spanish. She has participated in numerous ensembles at WMU, including the University Wind Symphony, the University Symphony Orchestra, and the modern music ensemble Birds On A Wire. Locally, she performs gigs at various churches, and she is the flautist for the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre. She has performed with them for their productions of Sound of Music and Cinderella and looks forward to joining again for upcoming musical productions.

She hopes to eventually continue her education at La Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofia in Spain to obtain a Master’s degree in Music.
