David Pendock has been teaching winds since 2009. His students have been principal chair in the DSO Civic Youth Orchestra, the Oakland Youth Orchestra, and the MSBOA All-State Band.
He graduated with his Master's Degree in Bassoon Performance from the University of Michigan in 2017, where he researched 20th century French contest pieces written for bassoon, especially by female composers. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Grand Valley State University, where he studied bassoon, saxophone, composition, music theory, and audio technology.
His research interests include music appropriate for middle and high school students by diverse composers, the role of the saxophone in the orchestral canon, and the influence of 1990s house music on video game soundtracks.
