Sarah Bauerle

Traverse City

Piano

Sarah Bauerle is an enthusiastic musician and teacher who is excited to bring her skills to Traverse City! A native of southeastern Michigan, she graduated from Concordia University Ann Arbor with a BA in music, followed by earning an MM in composition from Eastern Michigan University.

Sarah has worked extensively as a choir accompanist and church musician, and was also the rehearsal and pit pianist for the Howell Community Theater for many years, playing such favorites as “The Pirates of Penzance” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” She has taught private piano lessons for over a decade, and is known by her students to be a friendly, adaptable, and understanding teacher, who makes learning both achievable and enjoyable. Her teaching philosophy is that music is ultimately a means of communication, a way to express our emotions and develop the creative voice within all of us. Along with learning songs, her lessons provide a mix of music theory, technique, composition, and history, as well as musical activities and games that help to increase student engagement and make lessons more fun!
