Beth McWhorter has 30 years teaching experience. Her educational background includes a BA in music, with an emphasis in piano and music theory. She also has a BA in social work and an MA in counseling. Ms. McWhorter specializes in all basic piano concepts including note reading, rhythm, music theory, and general music ability for beginning to intermediate students. She welcomes children, teens, and adult students.
Ms. McWhorter individualizes her lesson plans to suit each student's unique style of learning. She strives to provide a relaxed and fun learning environment with lots of encouragement and thoughtful critique.
Ms. McWhorter has been in several bands and folk groups over the years. She provides music for weddings, parties, and other social occasions. She is an active member with the MSU Choruses. She enjoys sitting in with different pop, rock, and jazz bands in the area.
