Francis Francois Carew is a classically trained guitarist with nearly four decades of guitar experience. Francois has a Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance (2011) and a Master of Arts in Musicology (2018) from Wayne State University. He is a professional guitarist, music instructor, and musicologist that performs, teaches, and lectures throughout Michigan. Francois specializes in fingerstyle acoustic guitar but also plays and teaches electric guitar and bass guitar. He brings the classical perspective to Rock, Heavy Metal, Jazz-Blues, Flamenco, and Latin American music styles.

Francois is a guitarist of extraordinary musical depth and talent and has an excellent technical command of electric and acoustic guitar, which allows him to bring out their sensitive, melodious, and harmonic nature. Francois has been on the faculty of the Interlochen Arts Academy Guitar Festival and Workshops (2009, 2010, 2011) and Marshall’s School of Music (2006-2018). He teaches Classical, Flamenco, Jazz-Blues, Rock and Roll, and Heavy Metal guitar styles.
