Paul Theroux is a long time veteran of the local music scene. He teaches both electric and acoustic guitar and is proficient in several styles. He has gained invaluable experience through his formal music training at LCC, studying with top private instructors, attending the National Guitar Workshop in Connecticut, and his vast number of live and studio performances.
Theroux performed live nationally throughout the 1980s with various rock bands and has shared the stage with such notable ’80s rock acts as Quiet Riot, Night Ranger, and Skid Row. He continued to perform into the ’90s and beyond, expanding his range of musical styles to include blues, funk, country, and alternative, in addition to classic rock and heavy metal. More recently, he has focused on performing acoustic guitar material. He has also played in many local studio recording sessions.
Theroux has been a private studio instructor since 1990 and is approaching a remarkable 25 years with Marshall Music. He is comfortable with students of all ages and skill levels, from absolute beginners to advanced musicians. He prefers to take a personalized approach to teaching by developing a lesson plan that is tailored to each student’s individual needs and desires.
