Chris Rollins

Lansing

Christopher Rollins is the guitar, bass, and ukulele instructor for Marshall Music Company of Lansing. Mr. Rollins teaches guitar in the styles of Classical, Flamenco, Latin American jazz, American standards, and Rock & Roll.


Mr. Rollins received his Bachelors of Music degree from Michigan State University in Classical Guitar and Jazz Guitar Studies in 1992 and has taught at Marshall Music for over twenty-eight years. In addition, Mr. Rollins is Adjunct Professor of Guitar at Olivet College and Lansing Community College, developing the students' ability for higher learning as well as opportunities for transfer to higher-level universities.


In addition to a large teaching studio, Mr. Rollins is director of the Marshall Music Adult Rock Band and Youth Rock Bands, Lansing Community College Rock Band, and LCC Classical Guitar Ensemble. Mr. Rollins is skilled at teaching large classes, ensembles, and private studios to every ability, age group, and musical style. A large percentage of his students play in school recitals, live performances outside of Marshall Music participating in open mic nights, the Lansing Common Ground Music Festival, and additionally opening for recording artist Sister Hazel in 2019.


Mr. Rollins performs in the Michigan area as a solo Classical and Jazz artist, including duos and trios for private functions and weddings, including the Old Town Jazz Fest with Brazilian samba group Samba-4-Mi. Mr. Rollins also performs regularly in rock and country bands in the area. Add a fun and informative day to your week studying guitar.
