Jared Jarvis

Dr. Jared Jarvis works as a freelance musician and educator currently based in

Traverse City. He has earned a Bachelor of Music at Grand Valley State University as

well as a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Michigan State

University. His primary instructors include Dr. Mark Williams, Ava Ordman, Phil Sinder,

and Bob Ward. In addition to his instrumental education, Jared has studied and

specializes in electroacoustic composition and performance.

As an active member of the Michigan music community, Jared has performed with

numerous groups across the state. This list includes the Lansing Symphony Orchestra,

Midland Symphony Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony, Traverse City Philharmonic,

and many others. Jared also has extensive experience as a soloist and chamber

musician in a variety of styles including classical, jazz, and contemporary.
