Jamey Bostek

Trumpet, Horn

Jamey Bostek has been performing and teaching professionally for over 30 years. Active in all forms of music, Jamey continues to perform at venues throughout the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe. A founding member of Lava/Atlantic recording artists The Atomic Fireballs, he has numerous television appearances and their music can be heard on the soundtracks for American Pie and Scooby-Doo. Through his love of marching band and experience as a member and alumni of the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps he is sought after in southeast Michigan for his expertise from clinics, sectionals, master classes and guest performer. Jamey is currently enjoying lengthy tenures as 2nd trumpet in the Michigan Philharmonic Orchestra and sharing the lead and solo duties with the Henry Ford College Big Band. Besides his extensive orchestral and freelance classical work he also enjoys performing with The Luddites, Detroit Soul Revue, Blue Water Kings, Paco Higdon Band, The Nighthawk Jazz Orchestra, and Theatre Bizarre Orchestra.


He studied music at Aquinas College, San Jose State University, and Wayne State University. His teachers/mentors include Ed Nuccilli, David Jennings, Marcus Belgrave, Leonard Allman, Dan Kovatz, James Olcott, James Dooley, Kevin Good and William Lucas.
