Steve Pinckney has been performing, recording, and teaching music for 35 years. He has been an instructor at Marshall Music teaching guitar, banjo, bass, mandolin, ukulele, and harmonica since 1995. He teaches all ages, having taught students from 5 to 80 years old. Pinckney teaches all styles of music, including rock, country, blues, classical, praise, folk, and more.


Pinckney has traveled as a solo artist and with bands across the United States, Canada, and Japan. He has performed with rock legends Chuck Berry, The Crystals (Da Doo Run Run), Bobby Lewis (Tossin’ and Turnin’), as well as Blues legends Hubert Sumlin (Howlin’ Wolf’s longtime guitar sideman), Johnny Littlejohn, Phil Guy, Luther Alison, Eddie Clearwater, Big Time Sarah, and more. He has played in the pit orchestra for productions of The Sound of Music and Man of La Mancha.

I want them to achieve their goals whether it is to become a professional musician or to sit around the campfire or beach with friends playing cool tunes. I want to keep the fun factor high.”
