Stephen Bollinger

Music Theory

Stephen Bollinger is a graduate assistant at Central Michigan University, currently finishing his Masters of Music in Instrumental Conducting as well as holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumental Music Education. He previously taught orchestra and music theory at Grand Rapids Public Schools. Mr. Bollinger primarily plays cello and focuses his time on teaching string instruments. He started music with piano lessons at an early age, and also has percussion experience playing in competitive marching ensembles.


At Central Michigan University, Mr. Bollinger studied cello with Dr. Jamie Fiste, and conducting with Dr. Jose-Luise Maurtua and Dr. Chris C. Chapman. He assists the CMU Symphony Orchestra, and attends conducting workshops around the country. Mr. Bollinger is excited to share his passion with cello and theory students at Marshall Music!
