Yu-Hsin Wu is a talented cellist and music educator currently pursuing a
Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Michigan State University, following a Master
of Music and Bachelor of Fine Arts from National Taiwan Normal University.
With over a decade of teaching experience, Yu-Hsin has served as an adjunct
lecturer at Minghsin University, where she taught Taiwanese Art and Music
Appreciation. Additionally, as the director of the string orchestra at Songshan
High School, Yu-Hsin conducted a large ensemble and mentored students
through sectional coaching. Her teaching expertise extends to private lessons
in cello, piano, and music theory, catering to students ranging from children to
adults, and organizing biannual recitals to showcase student progress.
An accomplished performer, Yu-Hsin has played with various prestigious
ensembles, including the Da Capo Taiwan Chamber Orchestra and the Sun
Taipei Philharmonic. She has also been a regular participant in the Formosa
Chamber Music Festival and has performed as a soloist in several recitals,
including a notable performance of the Dvořák Cello Concerto as part of the
Concerto Winners Concert. Yu-Hsin’s contributions to the music community
also include writing program notes and artist biographies, as well as
collaborating with international musicians to craft narratives for album
releases and concert programs. Passionate about both performance and
pedagogy, Yu-Hsin continues to contribute to Taiwan's classical music scene
actively and is building a promising academic and performance career in the
United States.
