Mason Brown

Mason Brown is a recording artist, performer, and teacher with over 30 years experience. He has taught guitar, banjo, and mandolin at the college level, and also performs on various world music instruments, such as Japanese shamisen, Tibetan Dramnyen, Nepali sarangi, and Arabic oud. Mason enjoys teaching to all levels of students, and tailors his approach to the individual, whether they require in-depth, music theory-based analysis or more intuitive, "by-ear" learning.

While he is grounded in guitar standard tuning, and has long experience playing rock, jazz, and classical, his specialty is open tunings and arranging traditional melodies for fingerstyle guitar.
