The class will be using a method book that includes exercises as well as familiar songs. Every student will experience group instruction, individual attention, and casual performance opportunities in each session. Upon completion of the course, students will have gained the fundamental skills to make music on the piano. Students may then continue with further group courses or enroll private instruction.

Class Description: This course is designed for high school students preparing to take the AP Music Theory test or are interested in taking music theory in college. The course will cover an array of subjects beginning with pitch, intervals, and scales, and will end with learning to write harmony and melodies over chord progressions.
