Marshall Music recently made a major investment and purchased several large ultrasonic cleaners for the interior cleaning of band instruments for eachof its repair facilities across the state. This purchase will Ultrasonic Cleanerprovide our customers with the most advanced method available todato clean their instrument.
The cleaning of band instruments has changed little in the last 100 years.  Tradition dictated the use of acid based solutions to remove the lime and scale deposits.   Most acid based chemicals used in this process work primarily by removing metal, and in doing so etch the surface of these metals in various degrees.  While modern chemistry has improved with the passage of time, things really haven’t changed . . . until now!
The unique aspect about this new type of cleaning method is that ultrasonic cleaning is performed by using sound waves, which are sent through a liquid medium to microscopically scrub and clean all internal and external surfaces.  These bubbles expand and implode repeatedly, creating a scrubbing action thousands of times a second which removes all organic materials. This allows more complete cleaning of even the most complex tubing geometry.

We feel that making the economic investment is in the best interest of the customer as well as the greening of the planet. Our customer ends up with an instrument that is far cleaner with a much longer life!  No damage is caused by the traditional acid based cleaners, either to the instrument or our environment.
