Marshall Music Company's two day seminar Planning for a Successful First Year has been an overwhelming success. Marshall, in conjunction with The Selmer Company, sponsored the event on November 29th and 30th, 2001 and Gemeinhardt cosponsored the event May 8th and 9th, 2002. The seminar is designed to prepare the new music educator with the administrative aspects of being an instrumental music director. Topics include organization, parent and administrative relationships, first year challenges, motivation, retention, recruiting, and the business aspects of music education. Gemeinhardt and Selmer presented tours of their respective manufacturing plants. Participants were able to see the detail and craftsmanship that goes into the manufacture of the instruments their students use. | ||||||||||
